Separate warehouse roles from transport roles
A warehouse position may focus on unloading, checking deliveries, putting stock away, picking orders or preparing shipments. Inventory work may place more emphasis on records and investigating discrepancies. Dispatch and logistics coordination may involve schedules, documentation and communication.
Driving and delivery roles have their own requirements. Read the employer's description for vehicle type, route expectations and required qualifications. A warehouse job title does not automatically mean that driving or equipment operation is part of the role.
Describe your systems and equipment experience
Tell the employer which tasks you performed and which systems you used. Relevant examples might include barcode scanning, stock records, order checking, warehouse software or transport scheduling. Explain how you checked accuracy and handled problems.
If equipment operation is relevant, distinguish practical experience from current training or authorization. Name only qualifications you actually hold, and confirm the employer's requirements. Do not assume that experience on one type of equipment covers another.
Check the shift and physical requirements
Ask whether the schedule is fixed, rotating, seasonal or subject to changes. Check the actual worksite and travel options for the start and finish times. For driving work, clarify the route, expected time away and return arrangements.
Read any stated lifting, standing, temperature or other working conditions carefully. If details are missing, ask about them. Also confirm the training process and whom you would report to during the first weeks.
Compare accuracy, service and availability
Employers need to understand how your experience relates to their operation. A concise example of accurate records, careful order checking or clear communication can make a profile easier to assess. State your schedule preferences and start-date availability clearly.
